The EU Organic logo certifies: Our production combines best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources. Additionally, our production method uses only natural substances and processes. Our farms are audited once per year by control bodies or control authorities to ensure the respect of all strict European organic rules and all health and consumer protection rules. Most of the inputs for farm production come from the farm itself using local resources and local knowledge. USDA Organic certifies: Our teas are grown and processed according to federal guidelines addressing, among many factors, soil quality, animal raising practices, pest and weed control, and use of additives. We, as producers, rely on natural substances and physical, mechanical, or biologically based farming methods to the fullest extent possible. Our teas have grown on soil that had no prohibited substances which includes most synthetic fertilizers and pesticides applied for three years prior to harvest.

Soil Association

The Soil Association symbol is the most recognised organic trademark in the UK and has gained the trust, respect and confidence of consumers and producers across the globe. The Soil Association ensures the higher standards possible based on their organic principles. Soil Association Organic principles and Agricultural principles: for example to work within natural systems and cycles throughout all levels from the soil to plants and animals, to maintain the long term fertility and biological activity of soils and more. Environmental principles: to foster biodiversity and protect sensitive habitats and landscape features, to maximise use of renewable resources and recycling and to minimise pollution and waste. Food processing principles: to minimise processing and to maximise information for the consumer on processing methods and ingredients. Social principles: for example to provide a fair and adequate quality of life, work satisfaction and working environment and more.

Japanese Agricultural Standard

The Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) for organic products mark ensure the qualities of the products and certifies that our teas were produced and manufactured in accordance with relevant organic JAS Standards. Key features of the standard for organic agricultural products include:

  • Use of composts and non use of prohibited agricultural chemicals and fertilizers for no less than two years before sowing or planting.
  • Non use of prohibited agricultural chemicals and fertilizers for production periods. Non use of recombinant DNA technology.
  • Natural recycling function of agriculture is maintained or increased.
